Adele

AdeleAdele Mara (April 28, 1923 to May 7 in 2010), was an American actress in the fields of dance, singing and dancing who performed in films in the 1940s and 1950s, and in television during the 1950s, 1960s and then later. Adele St. Mara was her professional name. She received a contract from Columbia Pictures [citation needed]. She was able to work in comedy shorts and "B" features at the studio. This title was soon changed to Adele Mara. Mara began her career as a receptionist the Three Stooges movie I Can Hardly Wait. Mara Brooks and Leslie Brooks were the sisters of Rita Hayworth in the Fred Astaire movie You Were Never Lovelier. She plays the role of Alias Boston Blackie (1942), as the sister to an unjustly accused and released convict. When her Columbia contract ran out and she was transferred to Republic Pictures, where she was a regular in the studio's westerns and outdoor adventures. The actress appeared in The Vampire's Ghost, Wake of the Red Witch featuring John Wayne, Angels in Exile (leading ladies), Sands of Iwo Jima (John Wayne's love lover), California Passage (leading ladies) and Don Siegel's Count the Hours(supporting role).
